Insurance Marketing Enterprises, Inc. (IME) began serving Colorado Springs’ residents and business insurance needs in 1979. In the ensuing years the business was passed from founder, Owen Perkins, to his son-in-law, Carlos Douglas. After serving as a distinguished Army Officer, Carlos took the helm of IME and continued the family brokerage reputation for success and excellence. During his tenure as Owner and Broker, Carlos continued the emphasis on Business Insurance support. Meagan Fearing, IME’s current Owner and Broker—and Carlos’ daughter—joined the thriving family insurance business in 2009.
After attending Baylor University, Meagan built a successful career in corporate public relations. When she moved back to Colorado in 2009, Meagan found her professional home within the family’s business, making her the third generation dedicated to providing solutions for clients’ insurance and benefit needs. Becoming an insurance broker taught Meagan she has a passion for educating consumers and advocating for their best interests. Working with the clients of IME gave voice to Meagan’s passion to serve and protect people while also providing powerful tools to preserve and promote the entrepreneurial dreams of business owners throughout the Pikes Peak Region. Nearly a decade later, that passion is unabated, and IME’s near-40-year legacy continues with honor.
Meagan is currently the Legislative Chair for the Board of Directors with the local chapter of her professional governing organization, Southern Colorado Association of Health Underwriters (SCAHU). Serving with this group keeps Meagan apprised of new legislation regarding all aspects of individual and employee benefits and allows her to have input when new legislation is proposed.
Supporting local business and helping her local community thrive is important to Meagan. She participates and volunteers in several functions supporting the Colorado Springs Rising Professionals, Safe Passage Children’s Advocacy Center, and TESSA, a local domestic violence shelter and resource center.
